The Nelson’s are close friends of mine so when they WON the giveaway session of 2017 I was so excited to get to spend time with them as their photographer! They have the cutest boxer, Nani Mae, who was along for the session as well (FYI Nani has her own instagram account too so if you’re into dogs – boxers especially – you should give her a follow @nanimaenelson ).

Ashley and Alex decided that I would meet them at their place for some backyard fun and then we would all head to Lakewood Park together for a little walk around the place.

Nani was ready to greet me right away when I got to their house! She is hilarious and so full of energy! You’ll have to look throughout the images, but she is also very expressive with her eyebrows! Ha!

She’s was good with her tricks and SO READY to go outside and play!

I think my favorite part of being at the Nelson’s was when Alex and Ashley were just hanging out at their picnic table… apparently not giving Nani as much attention as she’d like because she jumped right up ON THE TABLE! To say it surprised everyone is almost an understatement.

Next, we got into the car and headed to Lakewood Park for more playing and a little walk as well! It was fun to be in the backseat and take some pictures along the way.

It was such a beautiful day and I love, love, love gorgeous backlit lighting!

Of course we had to get a nice family shot where everyone was looking and Nani did really well in front of the camera! Christmas card picture, check!

After that we just walked around the park and enjoyed the beautiful day…

We moved on down by the water! I love this shot of them walking down the Solstice Steps!

I had so much fun with the Nelson’s! Thank you Alex & Ashley (and Nani) for all the laughs and such a wonderful time!!!
