I loved my time with the Wyman family as they recently welcomed a new baby girl to their family!
Typically I end up spending a little bit of time with the siblings when I first get there – this little one and his big sister were cracking me UP!
The focus is on the baby so once she was ready everyone started coming together.
I always make it a point to get Mom with each sibling if possible, especially since so much of the session is focused around the new addition.
She was all about her baby sister, it was the sweetest thing!
I love getting images of the family as a whole, but how precious are these images of just Mama with her newborn?
I love it when I can also get some of Mom nursing her baby. The image with her kids playing in the room was completely accidental too. At first Mom wanted it to be just her and the newborn but the older kiddos wanted to join in as well. I could see through the lens that it was going to make the shot even better and really tell the story of life with two kids and a newborn.
I try to get shots of the siblings at each newborn session as well. Typically playing in their room or doing something they enjoy. We were watching things out the window of one of the bedrooms.
Of course I like to take advantage of Dad being there and getting some of just him and his newborn as well.
Every newborn session is different and in this one we ended up getting shots of Dad with his girls and with his son separately as well.
There’s something about this one that I love, I think just the real life part of it.
I typically get a lot more of just the baby, but as I said, every session is different, and this family wanted to focus a lot of them together, which I can also very much appreciate.
