There are so many beautiful locations to have your family photography session around the Cleveland area. However one of the best places to be in my personal opinion is right in your own home! In-home family photography in Cleveland is something I truly love – capturing you and your family in your everyday spaces is just so special. I will travel to the east side for sessions like this one for an additional fee and I am so glad I did for this sweet family!

Perks to In-Home Lifestyle Photography Sessions

Being at home for a photography session brings so many perks! I love it because you and your loved ones are all so much more comfortable right from the start. Yes you may need to do a little bit of cleaning and decluttering before I visit but it is so worth it! When you think about where you spend family time every day… what do you picture? I would imagine it would be inside your home. Is there a place that is more YOU than your home – the space you live in and decorated yourself? Probably not! Other perks to in-home family photography in Cleveland include you will never be late to your session, a change of clothes is easy with many options right there, and you have already got snacks!

What To Do For An In-Home Photography Session

I offer both lifestyle sessions and documentary sessions! A lifestyle session has more structure – I will have you all together and give you prompts while also capturing natural moments. A documentary session means I do not give any prompts or tell you what to do at all. For a documentary session I suggest planning some things to do together – playing, creating something, baking or cooking, making art, even having a water fight in the backyard! A lot of my in-home sessions end up a beautiful combination of both types and that is honestly my favorite way to work.

A Long Term Client Family

I had known this family since the youngest was in Mama’s belly! The collection they chose included maternity photos, newborn photos, a Christmas Tree Mini in between, and this session which was their little guy’s one year photos. I had spent a good amount of time with them in the past year which made everything so easy and relaxed. This family is so sweet and down to earth. I love how comfortable they always felt just hanging out the way they normally would at home – and that comfort comes through in every single image!

This In-Home Family Lifestyle Photography Session

Since this was also a one year session for their little guy we kicked things off in his room! First I got some of him in the crib which he was not enjoying by himself so quickly out he went to be with Mama – ha! Next I got some of him and Dad and following that him and his big sister. Of course his sister wanted to show me her room so that was our next space. She totally cracks me up and I loved getting shots of her playing with her dinosaurs in her own room. We did a few photos on Mom and Dad’s bed too but the kiddos were wanting to move so we headed downstairs to play.

I absolutely love the shots of their little guy walking around – one with drool and all, look for that one! Lastly we did a few shots outside. Dad and son, Mom and daughter, and of course the whole family together in front of their house. That is always a classic shot that will bring back memories every single time you see it!

Family sessions are my jam! It does not matter if you are a family of two or of seven – they are always so fun! I am based on the west side and primarily serve Westlake, Rocky River, Bay Village, Lakewood, Avon, Avon Lake, Fairview Park, North Olmsted, Olmsted Falls, and the surrounding Cleveland area.
