I am so excited to finally be sharing one of my favorite branding sessions! This one is a little different because it actually took place when our family was living in North Carolina for a couple of years – but the work speaks for itself and I could not leave it off the blog! If you don’t already know, you will soon see how gorgeous Salon Blume in Cornelius, NC is. Their space is beautiful and inviting, but it’s the stylists who work there that make it incredible. I had the best time doing fun headshot and branding photography for them!!

Fun Lifestyle Headshot and Branding Photography

Every small business should have professional headshots for each member of their team. It doesn’t just reflect that individual, but the brand as well. I started this session doing just that. Everyone was so kind, welcoming, and down to earth. As you can see as you scroll throughout this entire blog, we laughed A LOT. These are my kind of people! No one took themselves too seriously. Naturally, some may have felt more comfortable in front of the camera than others, but being around each other made it better for those who didn’t. It was obvious that they loved spending time together!

Headshot and Branding Photography Should Reflect You

Even though many of the shots I got for each person are somewhat similar, they are still each unique. After getting a few different initial professional looking headshots for everyone we moved on to the fun stuff. Getting them all together made it so fun because they couldn’t help but laugh! Someone also had the idea of doing a hairspray war, which was really fun to capture. Side note: we were really careful to spray away from people’s faces so that no one got any hairspray in the eye, nose, or mouth. I couldn’t help but laugh as I captured those moments!

Fun Headshot and Branding Photography Cleveland – The Space

It’s important for a small business, especially one that has a storefront, to have images that show off their beautiful space. I just loved the look of Salon Blume and was so excited to capture not only the people but the gorgeous area they work in. From the marble swirled floors to the comfortable chairs to the cleanliness of the entire space – it all matters. I loved capturing the really pretty details they added to the salon as well as the products they use when styling their clients. Just look at how inviting, welcoming, comfortable, modern, and beautiful the space looks in these images!

Creative Headshots With the Lensbaby Omni Creative Filter System

After getting images of the salon we had a little bit of extra time. I decided to use my Lensbaby Omni Creative Filter System to play around with additional headshots. The Omni is not a lens – it is a collection of wands, crystals, and filters that you hold in front of your lens to create really cool in-camera effects. I used different wands to give each stylist their own unique and creative images. I am a Lensbaby Trailblazer so I have been lucky enough to work with them and I think I have every Omni wand they offer – so the effects really are endless! I love what it adds to a session like this.

Creative Headshots Will Set You Apart

For the next set I used my Lensbaby Edge 35 to create additional creative headshots. The Edge has a beautiful slice of focus with a lot of dreamy blur around it. The slice of focus stayed on their eyes while the rest faded out beautifully. I truly believe that headshot and branding photography should reflect YOU and having more options is always better. Having different and creative headshots will also set you apart from others in your field – and that is exactly what fun headshot and branding photography in Cleveland is all about!
