But in-home family photography in Cleveland is something really special to me, and some of my most emotional and most treasured sessions have happened right inside someone’s living room, backyard, or kitchen. There is a reason your kids are wildest, silliest, and most themselves at home. It is their territory. Their safe place. And that comfort shows up directly in the photographs.

No stiff smiles. No “okay everyone look at the camera” energy. Just your family, being your family, in the place where you actually live your life together.

Parents are more relaxed too! There is no rushing to a location, no worrying about parking, no dragging a diaper bag across a field. The snacks are right there in the kitchen. The bathroom is down the hall. If someone needs a clothing change, no problem at all since their whole closet is right there. Easier means everyone is happier, and happier means better photos. It really is that simple!

I know what some of you might be thinking. “But our house is not that pretty!” or “It is always a mess!”

Here is the thing. I am not photographing your house. I am photographing your family inside your house. There is a big difference!

The worn spot on the couch where everyone piles together for movie night? That is a photograph. The kitchen where your kids stand on stools to help with pancakes? That is a photograph. The backyard where summer happens year after year? Absolutely a photograph.

This is my favorite part to talk about! In-home family photography in Cleveland gives us access to moments and details that are so specific and so personal to your family. Here are just some of the things I have had the joy of capturing:

• Families playing games together and all the real laughter and competitiveness that comes with it
• Kids (and families) jumping on the trampoline which is pure joy every single time
• Siblings riding bikes together in the driveway or down the street
• Couples sharing a quiet cup of coffee together because those everyday moments go by so fast
• Families making music together whether that is a piano, a guitar, or a dance party
• Kids in their bedrooms surrounded by the things they love most right now, the posters, the books, the collections that will not look quite the same in a few years
• The family pets who absolutely deserve to be in the photos and are always a hit!
• Special stuffies and lovies getting their moment alongside their favorite little humans

That last one gets me every single time. Those worn and beloved stuffed animals are such a big part of childhood. In five or ten years you are going to be so glad you have a photo of your kid at this age holding that exact stuffed animal that went everywhere with them.

These are the details that make a session feel like yours. You really cannot replicate that anywhere else.

Think about it… When you picture your favorite family memories, where do they take place? Around the dinner table. In the backyard. On the couch on a Sunday morning. In the chaos of the kids’ bedrooms.
