I can’t believe how long it’s been since I’ve blogged. I suppose once you get out of the habit it’s hard to get back into, like most things. Be excited, though! Today I am sharing a beautiful family session. It is a joy it is to capture these moments and share them as a Lake Norman lifestyle family photographer!

Lake Norman Lifestyle Family Photographer in Davidson

For this family lifestyle photography session, we went to Fisher Farm in Davidson, North Carolina. Davidson is known for being right there by Lake Norman, but this was such a beautiful, spacious location to use during the Fall. The leaves were all kinds of beautiful colors. This family also came dressed in such great autumn outfits! As you scroll through you will see that this area (and this family) was stunning during this season, especially during golden hour!

Lifestyle Family Photos

This family was so fun to work with! I loved how laid back they all were. We had a few moments where some of the kids fell and there were tears, but we always got back to smiles. Those moments also make for beautiful photographs as well. Emotional photography can be full of heart in many different ways and with many different emotions. I do my best to make sure kids are having FUN and ENJOYING the photography session. It’s all about making more memories and getting to capture those moments–whether they be joyful, tearful, simple, beautiful, ugly, and more. As long as the moment is authentic I am there for it!

Family Session Advice

There are a lot of tips I could give for family sessions, however, I will try to keep this concise. First, I truly believe that a hour length of time is the best. If you are after actually capturing true moments you need TIME to make them happen naturally. Second, make sure everyone is fed and happy before the session begins – that includes you parents too! Third, let it happen. Let’s be real, kids are probably going to run the show. That’s okay! Enjoy it and live in the moment WITH them!
