This branding session is actually two years old and I’m not sure why I haven’t blogged it yet (well probably because I’m really awful at blogging and there are so many sessions that have never been blogged, oops–I’m working on it). Katherine is a health nut and a nutritionist and I was so happy that she reached out to me to do a branding session for her. She was starting a new business and along with that a website which she needed images for it. I was so excited as this is something that I absolutely love doing for small businesses – especially small businesses in the Cleveland / Northeast Ohio / Ohio area!!

Katherine wanted the session to be lifestyle (yay, because that’s what I do best), but also to have some shots of her looking and smiling at the camera so that’s what we did! I also wanted to be sure to focus on detailed shots as well. In her case this meant shots of food, action shots of her cutting food, creating dishes, and so on. When you have a website shots like those are so important. If you plan to do a lifestyle branding session be sure to include other things besides just yourself (though it’s not always needed)! Katherine opted to have her session in the backyard rather than in the kitchen, but I’m hoping one day we can do one in the kitchen as well!

When I arrived to the site, I found that she had beautiful foods, of various colors and textures! The photographer in me loved this! Katherine also had a few outfit changes – this worked out great and was something we planned on. I wanted her to have a look that would work with fall / winter and another look that would work with spring / summer. That way if she is posting images of herself on social media or her website she doesn’t look out of place for the season of the year.
